Lakshadweep Islands is the smallest union territory of India and is located one the western part of Arabian Sea, covering a total area of 32km2. Out of the all the 36 islands and islets, only seven islands are inhabited. Among all these islands the principle ones are as follows, Agatti, Minicoy, Amini and Kavaratti. These islands are popular as tourist locations for there exotic beaches and other natural beauties. This makes tourism one of the most important sectors in Lakshadweep Islands.

Beaches in Lakshadweep have enticed tourists and drawn them from all niches of the globe. Among these sprawling islands and beaches of Lakshadweep Islands, some are not accessible for visitors and for some certain permission are obligatory.
The islands of Lakshadweep are known primarily for the sightseeing and water sports. Tourists relish bathing in the deep blue lagoons, enjoying the water sports, basking in the sun and strolling on the beaches of Lakshadweep Islands. The varied tour packages offer options for availing sports and adventures like yachting, canoeing, wind surfing, snorkeling, kayaking and water skiing. The Kavaratti Island has some awesome beaches in Lakshadweep and is the most popular island among domestic as well as international tourists. The white sandy beaches with small huts look spectacular. The Kalpeni Beach is the largest lagoon among all the islands of Lakshadweep and is noted for the adventurous sports, huts, and changing rooms. The Bangaram beach, Minicoy beach and Kadamat beach are the other well known beaches of Lakshadweep.
The government has been planning to open more islands, giving more destinations to the general tourists. Moreover, numerous villas are being built in most of the island of Lakshadweep to attract more tourists. With further development a tour of the islands and beaches of Lakshadweep Islands would cater much more pleasure to one and all.
