The Polalem Beach, Goa is a beautiful and quiet beach just about 2 km west of Chaudi, Canacona District in South Goa. The total length of the beach can be estimated to be about a mile long. There are bus services plying between Margao and Karwar daily making the transport to the Polalem Beach of Goa cheap. The beach is at a distance of 37 km from Margo and lies just west of Chaudi. Most tourists like to travel, live, dress and eat like the locals to get a better feel of the place. The Western Ghats creates an excellent backdrop for this marvelous beach.

This part of Goa is often filled with white sandy beaches. Small and unassuming, this beach was also soon commercialized and popularized. Because Goa is known for its beautiful beaches the world over, the influx of foreign and national tourists made virtually every beach in Goa into a money making machine. However, these small beaches are the ‘special find’ beaches where tourists love the privacy, seclusion, anonymity and a sense of uniqueness. The best time to visit the Polalem Beach in Goa would be from November to March.
The Polalem Beach in Goa has eateries, shacks and open air restaurants towards the southern end of the beach. This in no way dilutes the serenity of the beach as all the people running these small shops are local natives offering local food and drinks and the shops are small and unassuming. At the northern end of the beach there is a fresh water stream which is good for family outings by the water and is safe for swimming. On the other side of the stream is a tiny undeveloped island and swimmers often swim across to laze on the small island and bask in the sun. There are also Dolphin cruises and fishing trips organized regularly.
