History of Agra: It is one of the most oldest city in the country and the varied monuments of the Mughal period can be seen here. The city was founded by the Sultanate ruler Sultan Sikander Lodhi in the year 1504. Since then the city has continued to be one of the most important seat of the Sultanate rulers as well as the Mughal rulers. How to Reach Agra from Delhi: The National Highway 2 is an important roadway which connects Delhi with Agra. Through this way, people will have to cross places like Ballabgarh, Palwal, Mathura and Kosi Kalan. Trains are also available from Delhi, which will take people to Agra as fast as possible. Shatabdi Express is a superfast train which helps people reach Agra within a short span of time. It reaches the Agra station at 9 in the morning and returns back at 8.15 at night. Thereby, making a clear day-long trip. However, one can also drive to Agra.
