Chamba in Himachal Pradesh is one of the greatest weekend getaways for people residing in North India. Chamba is well connected by railways to Pathankot. In case you are planning to land at Chamba by air all you need to do is to catch a flight to Gaggal airport. The Gaggal airport is only 10 km from Chamba. Nestled on the banks of river Ravi, Chamba is one of the most important religious places for the Hindus. The Champavati devi is considered to be the resident deity of Chamba. Besides one can also visit the Gauri Temple, Harirai Temple and Laxmi Narayan Temple at Chamba.

The temple of Vajreshwari is believed to be at least 10, 000 years old. The sui Mata Temple at Chamba is yet another tourist attraction of Chamba. The mountain ranges of the outer Himalayas pass through the valley of Chamba. Dalhousie and Bharmor are the closest hill stations near Chamba.
According to the archaeologists the Laxmi narayan temple at Chamba has a great archaeological importance. Built during the 10 th Century the temple is arguably one of the most ancient hill temples in India. In the temple goddess Laxmi is worshiped along with her brother lord ganesh, Manimahesh and Narsing.
Every weekend the temple is visited by lots of devoted Hindus. In fact the town of Chamba is one of those few places in India which remain crowded through out the summer season as many visit the temples in the area in search of the heavenly blessings. Besides the Chhatrari temple at Chamba one can also visit the placid Mani Mahesh Lake at Chamba.
