Tirupati is the famous religious weekend getaway spot in India. The diversity of cultures has given the country its definite character. There are many temples, churches, mosques and other places of worship in India. This country is the most religiously tolerant country. The population of India is deeply religious and there are often trips to these religious places to seek blessing of the Gods. Tirupati is located on the Tirumala Hills. The place is sacred because it is commonly believed that Lord Venkateshwara who is another form of Lord Vishnu resides in that place.

Tirupati is a temple town, that owes its existence completely to the temples. It has the thriving economy due to the thousands of pilgrims that flock daily and 24 hours a day to seek blessings and pray.
Tirupati can be accessed by trains, buses and cars. Most people pay respect and homage by traveling to Tirupati and for the temple visit, they go on foot. Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai are cities that are nearest to the town of Tirupati. Language is the main barrier in Tirupati as only Telegu is spoken. But English and Hindi are well understood. The attire are similar and traditional and no western wear are allowed. During the festivals, there are additional rush to these places. It is a long affair to offer prayer at the temples as they are always crowded and long queues are formed. Hundreds of people go to Tirupati to seek salvation and peace.
Tirupati has many hotels and places of accommodation. The pilgrims rush has forced the authorities to make necessary arrangements. It is advisable to book your rooms previously during special days or at the time of festivals because the rush is immense. The numerous temples are built artistically and are examples of fine architecture. They are beautifully located on the foothills.
